[FREEBIE] Fraction-Decimal-Percentage Dice ~ Fun Learning in Math~

Hello everyone! Hope you have had a splendid week. :)

This week's blog will be on the subject of Mathematics. This is just a sharing of a fun idea that I've thought of (inspired by Pinterest too!) to help my pupils learn and connect three Mathematical topics, which are Fraction, Decimal and Percentage.

* Just for everyone's info, I teach Mathematics using my national language, hence the different language you see in the pictures below :) *

After teaching them the concept of the three topics, I've decided to combine all three together so that they can see the connection among them. I've called this the Fraction-Decimal-Percentage Dice. :)

Here are the materials you'll need:

1) Dice template in A3 size (Scroll down to download the pdf file.)
2) Drawing design for each face of a dice (Scroll down to download the pdf file.)
3) Colour pencils and marker pens
4) Scissors and glue

Here are the steps to create the dice:

1) Hand out the drawing design to each pupil. I've put together two sets of designs: cupcake and ball. I allow the pupils to choose the design they want. Here are two pictures of the designs.

2) Pupils decide on one percentage. In my example, I decided on 34% for my ball dice and 53% for my cupcake dice.

3) Pupils label each face of the dice based on the percentage they chose. Here's what they will write for each face:

      Face 1: Percentage in numeral
      Face 2: Percentage in words
      Face 3: Decimal in numeral
      Face 4: Decimal in words
      Face 5: Fraction in numeral
      Face 6: Fraction in words

Here's how the faces of the cupcake dice look like:

4) After colouring each design, pupils paste them onto the dice template. After that, it is just cutting the template and folding it into a dice!

Simple, Effective and FUN!
A good change from the usual routine drills! :)

Try it out in your classrooms. Thanks for reading the post! :)
